me: You know, if I'd never been . . . whatever. Depressed, crazy, bipolar, whatever . . .
her: Yeah?
me: I don't think I'd be as good at this. I don't think I'd get it.
her: I wouldn't, either.

me: today sucked. hard.

her: ouch. on all accounts. (insert more here . . . ) hope today is less sucky than today.

Does anyone have good literature about suicide...
I need reading recommendations regarding suicide in primary (K-2) grade children. Most of what I have is geared towards middle and high schoolers. If you have any books or articles about it, especially crisis intervention geared towards that developmental level written for teachers, please send word my way.

me: okay. so i'll call them, ask about referrals, and the wait time. and see if they seem nice. and if they laugh at my jokes.
therapist: yeah.
me: no, it's okay if they don't laugh. . . if they're smart enough.
therapist: i'm not sure anyone could not find you funny, but do you really think you could see someone who doesn't laugh at your jokes?
me: ahhhh . . . naw. not really.

Ridiculous
I finally got a doctor at the university clinic to call me. They said they were a month behind in booking, so they’ll call back in mid-November to schedule something. Maybe by Christmas. Wait… what? So I call another practice. We might could see you before that, the receptionist said, if your current provider gets your paperwork in quickly. Maybe after Thanksgiving. Um. Okay....

Questions end in question marks, not seven exclamation points. Also, please don’t crowd-source answers over e-mail for questions that A) I already answered and B) any veto to my answer could only be made by my boss. Finally, please proofread. P.S. - The all-staff distribution list is not a toy.
